# How to use Watch Wallet and Cold Wallet?

### **How to Create a Cold Wallet**

A cold wallet is a wallet usage method that places greater emphasis on private key security. Its core feature is that key operations such as wallet creation, key storage, and transaction signing are completed in an offline environment as much as possible, thereby reducing the risk of mnemonic phrases and private keys being exposed to the internet.

In TokenPocket, a cold wallet usually needs to be used together with a watch wallet. The cold wallet is responsible for storing the mnemonic phrase or private key offline and completing offline signatures when transactions are required. The watch wallet is used to view assets online, initiate transaction requests, and submit signed transactions to the blockchain network.

Simply put, the cold wallet is responsible for “secure signing,” while the watch wallet is responsible for “online interaction.” This method ensures that the private key remains offline while still allowing users to conveniently view assets and perform on-chain operations.

> This tutorial first explains how to create a cold wallet in TokenPocket. Later, it can be used together with the watch wallet creation process, as well as the complete process of transaction signing and broadcasting between the cold wallet and the watch wallet through QR codes.

### **Enter the Wallet Creation Entry**

1. When using TokenPocket on an offline device for the first time, it is recommended to select “I don’t have a wallet” and create a new cold wallet.

Select the public chain network for which you want to create the cold wallet. For example, this tutorial uses “BNB Smart Chain.”

### **Select the Cold Wallet Creation Method**

2. After selecting the target network, the page will enter the “Creation Method” interface. Select “Cold Wallet.” After entering the cold wallet page, you will see two import methods: mnemonic phrase and private key. The page will also remind you that the cold wallet should be used in an offline environment and needs to be used together with a watch wallet.

Tap “Click here” on the page to create the wallet offline. The cold wallet creation process should always be completed in an offline environment. Do not generate, copy, transmit, or store mnemonic phrases or private keys while connected to the internet.

### **Create a New Wallet Offline**

3. After tapping “Click here,” you will enter the new wallet creation process. This process is similar to creating a regular hot wallet, but a cold wallet places greater emphasis on the offline environment and secure key backup.

On the creation page, carefully read the security reminders. After confirming that you understand the content, tap “I understand.” After entering the “Back Up Mnemonic Phrase” page, continue reading the security reminders on the page and confirm that you understand the importance of the mnemonic phrase. Then tap “Generate Mnemonic Phrase.”

**Set Password and Import the Cold Wallet**

4. After the mnemonic phrase backup is completed, the system will automatically return to the cold wallet creation page and fill in the mnemonic phrase that was just generated.

At this point, you need to set the wallet name and wallet password.

The wallet password is used to encrypt and decrypt wallet data on the current device. It cannot recover the mnemonic phrase and cannot replace the mnemonic phrase. If you forget the wallet password, you will need to re-import the wallet using the mnemonic phrase or private key.

After tapping “Import Wallet,” the cold wallet creation in TokenPocket is completed.

### How to Create a Watch Wallet

A watch wallet is a wallet type that only imports the wallet address and is used to view on-chain assets and transaction records. It does not import the mnemonic phrase or private key and cannot directly complete transaction signing. Therefore, it is more suitable for asset viewing, address monitoring, and working together with a cold wallet to complete on-chain operations.

In cold wallet usage scenarios, the watch wallet is usually installed on an online device. Users can use the watch wallet to view the assets of the cold wallet address, initiate transaction requests, and generate QR codes that need to be signed by the cold wallet. The cold wallet remains offline and completes the signing process by scanning the QR code.

Simply put, the watch wallet is responsible for “viewing assets and initiating transactions,” while the cold wallet is responsible for “offline signing.” When used together, they allow on-chain transactions to be completed without exposing the private key to the internet.

**Enter the Add Wallet Entry**

1. After opening TokenPocket, tap the “Add Wallet” icon in the upper-right corner of the wallet homepage.

After entering the “Select Network” page, select the public chain network for which you want to create the watch wallet. For example, this tutorial uses “BNB Smart Chain.”

2. After selecting the target network, enter the wallet creation or import page and select “Watch Wallet.”

A watch wallet only requires the wallet address to be imported. It does not require a mnemonic phrase or private key. Therefore, the watch wallet can only be used to view assets and transaction records, and cannot independently initiate or sign transactions.

**Import the Wallet Address**

3. Enter or paste the wallet address that you want to observe, then set the wallet name according to your needs.

Please make sure the address is correct and that the selected network matches the address. If the address or network is incorrect, the assets displayed in the watch wallet may be inconsistent with expectations.

After confirming the information, tap the import button to complete the watch wallet creation.

### How to Use Watch Wallet and Cold Wallet Together for Signing

After the cold wallet and watch wallet are created, they can be used together to complete on-chain operations such as transfers and swaps. The watch wallet is responsible for initiating the transaction and generating the QR code to be signed, while the cold wallet is responsible for scanning the QR code and completing the offline signature.

The overall process is: the watch wallet generates the transaction QR code, the cold wallet scans and signs it, the cold wallet generates the signed result QR code, and the watch wallet scans the signed result and broadcasts the transaction.

**Initiate a Transaction in the Watch Wallet**

1. In TokenPocket, open the watch wallet and select the token you want to operate. Transfers, swaps, and other operations that require signatures follow a similar process.

On the transfer page, enter the receiving address and the transfer amount. Then check the transaction information carefully, including the receiving address, token type, network, and amount.

For transactions that require a network fee, the page will display the available Gas payment methods. Depending on the network and wallet assets, there may be multiple payment options.

2. Select a token with sufficient balance as the Gas payment method, then tap “Confirm.” After confirmation, the watch wallet will generate a dynamic QR code for cold wallet signing.

This QR code contains the transaction information to be signed, but it does not contain sensitive information such as your mnemonic phrase or private key.

**Scan and Sign with the Cold Wallet**

3. Open the cold wallet and tap “Scan to Sign.” Adjust the position of the scanner and scan the dynamic QR code displayed on the watch wallet.

During scanning, keep the QR code fully visible and maintain an appropriate distance between the two devices. If the QR code is dynamic, wait patiently until the cold wallet completes recognition.

**Confirm Transaction Details on the Cold Wallet**

4. After the cold wallet recognizes the QR code, it will display the transaction details. Carefully check the payment address, receiving address, transfer amount, network, and other transaction information.

After confirming that all information is correct, tap “Confirm” to sign the transaction. The signing process is completed locally on the cold wallet. The private key will not leave the cold wallet or be transmitted to the online device.

After the signing is completed, the cold wallet will generate a dynamic QR code containing the signed transaction result.

**Scan the Signed Result with the Watch Wallet**

5. Return to the watch wallet and tap “Scan Signed Result.” Use the watch wallet to scan the dynamic QR code generated by the cold wallet.

After the watch wallet successfully recognizes the signed result, it will read the signed transaction data returned by the cold wallet. This process only transfers the signed data back to the watch wallet and does not involve the transmission of private keys.

**Send the Signed Transaction**

6. After the watch wallet recognizes the signed result, it will enter the transaction sending page. On this page, you can view the signed transaction data. This data is used to submit the transaction to the blockchain network and does not contain sensitive information such as mnemonic phrases or private keys.

After confirming that everything is correct, tap “Confirm to Send.” The watch wallet will broadcast the signed transaction to the blockchain network.

Once the transaction is successfully sent, you can view the transaction status, transaction hash, block height, network fee, transaction time, and other information on the transaction details page. You can also open the corresponding blockchain explorer to view more detailed on-chain records.

### Important Notes

When using a watch wallet together with a cold wallet, make sure the cold wallet always remains offline. The core security logic of a cold wallet is that the private key never connects to the internet. Therefore, do not connect the cold wallet device to Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or mobile networks, and do not import the mnemonic phrase or private key of the cold wallet into an online device.

Before signing with the cold wallet, carefully verify the transaction details, especially the receiving address, transfer amount, and network information. Signing with the cold wallet means that you confirm the transaction. Once the signed transaction is broadcast and confirmed on-chain, it usually cannot be canceled or reversed.

If scanning fails, check whether the QR code is fully displayed, whether the screen brightness is sufficient, whether the camera is clear, and whether the distance between the two devices is appropriate. For dynamic QR codes, keep both devices stable and wait for the system to complete scanning.

1. Click the upper right corner to access to the account setting page, click \[Import Wallet].

**How to use Chrome Watch Wallet by communicating with Mobile Cold Wallet for transfer?**

Execute a transfer operation by clicking the \[Send] button, confirm the transaction details then click \[Next] and \[Confirm]. There will be a pop-up window to inform you to scan by cold wallet and sign. You need to use your cold wallet to scan it and sign the transaction.
