How to Trade Perps on TokenPocket

TokenPocket now supports Hyperliquid Perps in its browser extension, mobile coming shortly. Powered by Hyperliquid, users can add funds, select markets, go long or short, and manage positions directly from their TokenPocket wallet.

1. What Are Perps?

Perpetual futures, or perps, are derivative contracts that let you trade an asset’s price movements without owning the asset itself. Unlike traditional futures, perps have no expiry date.

  • Go Long if you expect the price to rise.

  • Go Short if you expect the price to fall.

Perps also support leverage, which can increase both potential profits and losses.

2. Key Features of Perps Trading on TokenPocket

  • Wallet-native access: Trade directly through the TokenPocket wallet.

  • Self-custody: Access perps using your own wallet without creating a centralized exchange account.

  • Powered by Hyperliquid: Access onchain perpetual markets through Hyperliquid’s trading infrastructure.

  • Simple experience: Add funds, select assets, and manage positions in one place.

3. How to Trade Perps on TokenPocket

Step 1: Enter Perps

Open the TokenPocket browser extension and click Perps.

If you are using TokenPocket for the first time, create or import a wallet before continuing.

Step 2: Add Funds

On the Perps page, click Add. Select the network and token you want to use, enter the amount, and review the estimated USDC received, service fee, and swap route. Then click Confirm Swap.

Your selected token will be converted into USDC and deposited into your Hyperliquid Perps balance. Make sure your wallet has enough funds to cover the amount and any network fees.

Step 3: Select a Market and Open a Position

Choose the market you want to trade, such as BTC/USDC. Review the price chart, available margin, and key market data, including 24h Volume, Open Interest, Funding Rate, Oracle Price, and Maximum Leverage.

Select your trading direction:

  • Choose Long if you expect the price to rise.

  • Choose Short if you expect the price to fall.

Choose a Market Order for immediate execution or a Limit Order to set your preferred execution price. Enter the position amount, set your leverage, and optionally configure Take Profit / Stop Loss.

Before placing the order, review the current price, estimated liquidation price, position value, required margin, and fee. Then click Place Order. Once the order is filled, you can monitor it under Positions. To exit the trade, select Close, choose how much of the position to close, and confirm.

Risk Reminder

Perpetual futures involve significant risk. Leverage can amplify losses and may result in liquidation. Perps may not be available in certain countries or regions. Please ensure that your use complies with applicable local laws and regulations. Always understand the risks and trade responsibly.
