How to Import a Wallet?
If you have backed up your Recovery Phrase, Private Key, or Keystore, you can import your existing wallet into TokenPocket and continue managing the same wallet address and on-chain assets.
This guide uses importing an Ethereum wallet using a Recovery Phrase as an example. The steps are similar for other supported chains and import methods.
Security Reminder
Your Recovery Phrase, Private Key, and Keystore are the credentials that control your wallet. Anyone with access to them can take control of your assets.
Always import your wallet in a private and secure environment. Never take screenshots, record your screen, or share your backup information through messaging apps or any online service.
TokenPocket will never ask for your Recovery Phrase, Private Key, or Keystore.
1. Open the Add Wallet Page
Open TokenPocket, tap the Add Wallet icon, then select the network of the wallet you want to import.
In this guide, we'll use Ethereum as an example.
2. Choose the Import Method
Tap Import Wallet, then select Recovery Phrase as the import method.
TokenPocket supports multiple import methods, including Recovery Phrase, Private Key, and Keystore. Make sure you choose the method that matches your backup. Do not enter a Recovery Phrase on the Private Key or Keystore import page.
3. Enter Your Wallet Information
Enter your Recovery Phrase in the original order, with each word separated by a single space.
After confirming the information is correct, check I have read and agree to the Terms of Service, then tap Import Wallet.
Notes
Never share your Recovery Phrase, Private Key, or Keystore through messaging apps, cloud storage services, email, or online forms.
If some assets don't appear after importing your wallet, first make sure you've switched to the correct network, then try adding the token manually if needed.
FAQs
1. My wallet has assets, but they don't appear after importing. Why?
First, make sure the imported wallet address matches your original wallet address.
If the address matches: Make sure you're on the correct network. If needed, add the token manually and refresh the asset list.
If the address doesn't match: Check that your Recovery Phrase is correct, including the spelling and order of each word.
If your assets are on another network: Switch to the corresponding network, or use Wallet Sync if needed.
2. What should I do if my Recovery Phrase is invalid?
Check the following:
The words are spelled correctly and in the correct order.
You're using the Recovery Phrase import option, not Private Key or Keystore.
The number of words is correct (such as 12, 18, or 24).
3. What should I do if my Private Key is invalid?
Make sure the Private Key is complete and correctly formatted. Avoid extra spaces, line breaks, or missing characters.
4. Will importing my wallet affect the original wallet?
No. Importing a wallet does not affect the original wallet or its assets.
The same Recovery Phrase, Private Key, or Keystore can be used to restore the same wallet on multiple trusted devices.
